I didn’t have any big plans when I decided to start writing again.
I knew it was one of my most treasured creative outlets, but I never gave it much attention. Now, as I sit at my desk after months of contemplating when to launch my first blog, I’m still in disbelief that I’m finally here today – publishing my first blog post and officially beginning this journey as a writer.
It’s no secret that we all have that one thing we just love doing no matter what. That thing that lights us up and we can talk about for hours. That’s what writing is to me – new books, writing short stories and poems, the power of connecting with words. Connection is one of the strongest forces we have as humans. To things and to others, and it’s something that is often overlooked.
One of the things I love about connecting with others is sitting back and listening to what lights them up. Witnessing the passion that moves through them when they’re talking about something or someone they love is truly a beautiful experience.
They’ll tell you how they first got started with that one thing, how that led to something else, how it grew from there, and so on. The best part about it all is that even in that very moment, their stories are still continuing and they as people are still evolving.
Thoughts change, perspectives grow, but their journeys still remain beautiful as they continue to evolve and grow.
With Spoken Curls, I hope to share helpful thoughts and perspectives on different moments of life. To not only support you through your own evolution and growth, but to bring feelings of peace as well. Don’t get me wrong – there are parts of my own life that I have yet to, and probably never will master. Even if I get close, there will be so much more I have to learn. About myself, about others, and just life in general.
In those learning moments though, that’s where I love to reflect on parts of myself that I can adapt or change, so that I can continue to grow and become the best version of me.
Let’s be honest though, reflecting on parts of yourself and even changing your perspective, isn’t always the most fun thing to do. If my writing helps you to take a moment to pause and reflect or gives you something you resonate with, then I’ve achieved my goal. If my journey as a writer inspires you to start your dream, then I’ve done my job.
As you go after that big dream you have or that awesome goal you’ve set for yourself, I hope that my words can support you on the way there.
If you’ve gotten this far reading this post, I truly do thank you and appreciate you so much. I hope you continue to walk with me in this journey of mine, as I walk with you in yours.
